Dana Plato

On May 8, 1999, Dana Plato and her fiancé Robert Menchaca visited Menchaca’s mother in Moore, Oklahoma for Mother’s Day. Plato, feeling unwell, took painkiller Lortab and muscle relaxant Soma before lying down in their parked Winnebago motor home. Upon awakening, Menchaca and family found Plato deceased. Initially considered an accidental overdose, her death was later ruled a suicide due to her extensive history of drug abuse.
